In this this episode of the Brussels Report podcast, BrusselsReport.eu editor Pieter Cleppe discusses the following topics with him:

– Whether EU energy policies have contributed to increased energy prices

– Whether nuclear energy should be recognized as environmentally friendly, also in the light of the EU’s “taxonomy” regulation, which classifies economic activities as to how environmentally friendly they are

– The “ITER” research project on “nuclear fusion”

– Whether there are any grounds to consider Russian firm Gazprom to have engaged in potential abuse of its dominant market position in the EU

– What to make of the EU’s “Fit for 55” climate change plans and the role for renewables

– How long would it realistically take for countries to increase the role of nuclear, in particular through the development of the newest generation of nuclear reactors, as for example French President Macron has announced?
